Indeed, the Stepping Stones Restaurant in Balivanich, Benbecula does serve seaweed (carrageen) jelly with rhubarb!
In most cases a visit to a shore brings a chance to see some seaweed with its entrancing shapes, colours, and surfaces. I knew that seaweed had been important in the history of the Western Highlands (see articles here and here), but was still not prepared for the quantity we encountered. Once again my snapping finger was collecting input ... because I feel an obsession coming on.
These hard black flourishes were three dimensional calligraphy on the grey sand.
