Colours of Spring

4 comments:

  1. We drove north to Aberdeenshire on Saturday. We went from the amazingly dramatic burst of growth brought on by the sudden warm sunshine to a late winter landscape more akin to mid February. Here the mountains are still capped with snow and the trees are hardly stirring. The only splash of colour is from the daffodils that are just coming into flower. A quite extraordinary contrast!

    1. Everything here has moved so fast in the last ten days that I was just wishing I'd taken more detailed note of the tightly curled leaf buds. I do like the different rate of change in the seasons around the country. I especially enjoy Spring in Scotland because I believe that everything moves more slowly - here our beech tree went from tight leaves to full greenery in less than a week.
      Enjoy your visit.

  2. Bluebells already? We have at least another two weeks to go. Am looking forward to a walk in the woods.

    1. All sorts of things are out around here in sheltered areas. I was entranced by some copper beeches near the Thames today.
