This morning's stroll to the post box

This year is a bountiful one for berries.  Accompanying my stroll this morning in the sunshine the sounds were children playing as I passed the school, and much louder, the delighted chirping of long tailed tits feasting on yew berries as I passed the churchyard.

  1. On Tuesday, my husband saw the first flock of fieldfares on a large berried in the fields bush near our house. Their special call always signals the start of winter for us... and the snows in the north mean we can't avoid the thought!

    1. I do so enjoy little signs of the changing of seasons.
