The north coast of Norfolk is full of bird reserves, and flocks of birders are even more evident (above on Cley beach).  The bird which I was able to observe the most, and which I found most endearing was the black-headed gull.  Indeed I found it inspirational, and almost immediately came up with a composition.
The second image which followed quickly on the heels of this one is related to those wide stretches of tidal sand.
Both are designs with stitch in mind, small pieces (A3) on silk probably, after a bit more tweaking.
