Early June

and gardens are glorying in their floral beauty, ... but I do love grass too.  This morning Margaret Cooter has posted Philip Larkin's Cut Grass as her choice for Poetry Thursday, and I was reminded of a fantastic day in 2004 when my duodidactic friend and I had been wowed by the Cy Twombly exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery.  On the way back to the railway station Poems on the Underground had the first verse of this poem, and I was inspired to produce this small piece with paper and cloth
Cut grass
It conjures for me the joys of lying in long grass and gazing up at the clouds drifting across a warm blue sky in early summer.
