Spring doodling

City breakfast
Labyrinth
The latter is the latest image to emerge from my exploration of grids some months ago.  Really that exploration did not really begin then.  It was a sharpening of  particular focus; but I find that grids have been a starting point - or at least are involved in some way - in a deal of my work.

  1. Doodles, like sketches, are a great way to try out ideas and can lead to exciting new work. Both look very intriguing. Looking forward to seeing where they go!

    1. I'm drifting somewhat at present, Marja-Leena, so I too am looking forward to seeing where everything goes!

  2. A very interesting pair. The last is especially intriguing. The irregular grid suggested to me a layout of streets and seemed to give a feeling of entrapment and the limiting of horizons - but then I read the title and that is no surprise! .

    1. Yes, Margaret, the grid has evolved / disintegrated into a kind of street map. And you are also right about a kind of being stuck too - it seems to be where I am at the moment.
