The colour of rocks, etc.

I find that a grey atmosphere helps to focus my attention on particular areas, and to see colour in a more intense way.  In Cornwall the geology always provides a wide diversity of form and colour, and in Porth Nanven bay there is quite a selection on view.
We thought that we were alone, but there was already another photographer there.
Apart from the colours of the land, the predominant hues were green and yellow.

Such a lovely trip, stunning photos of textures and colours to give you many inspirations for your work, I bet!

It was indeed a lovely trip, and just what we needed to shake us out of the gloom that the dull persistent weather had put us in. I shall have to wait to see what inspirations seep through eventually!

Arizona's gray beiges of the end of winter are enticing to me at the moment. I just happened to have a couple tubes of unbleached titanium white and a warm gray, as well as a kind of beigey pink that work well. It's fun to play with the muted colors to see how they can be worked -- the opposite end of the bright, saturated that are so predominant, particularly on the web. Also, kin to the mood of weather and place.
