Experiments with polyester litho plates

Both are the first prints using polyester litho plates which had the image printed on with a laser printer.  It is difficult to roll the ink on evenly, and it is very easy to lose areas when using the roller.  However, the top print was inked a la poupee with scrim, and has given an encouraging result.  More trials are needed!  But the polyester plate is such a brilliant alternative to a stone.

I really like the effect of these Olga- where do you get poly litho plates? I really like seeing your progress with the printing- printing being another of my passions. Would love to do more but time time time....

How interesting! I've not heard of this kind of litho plate, though I've had virtually no experience with any kind of lithography. I like your results. Look forward to seeing more, Olga!

Dijanne, thanks - I get the plates from the print studio where I do my classes, but they are available from printmaking outlets such as Intaglio in London, so I guess they should be available all over.

Marja-Leena, I like these plates too. They allow for me to build up my images on the computer and then transfer to the plate - or to draw directly onto the plate with oily/greasy implements, or permanent markers.

Hi, where did you learn how to use polyester litho plates? I've tried to find a course but so far nothing in the UK.
