She looks pretty intense - more like a judge than a saint.
Deb - I believe that she avenged her husband's murder and was quite a feisty regent for her son.
Oh, one of the Romanovs, interesting link, lovely work and frame. And I see from the provenance that it seems to be part of a collection in Canada. Happy St. Olga's Day to you! Are you familiar with the tradition of 'name days'? This made me think of it.
What a GREAT picture to share. SHe is looking how I feel today. It made me smile. I love that she was feisty as well. Good reminder for me at present.
Marja-Leena, yes, I used to celebrate my name day in Greece every summer until I got married. Then when I could, I would quietly treat myself on that day.
